Fiesta Colorado is known for its beautiful presentations of the Mexican folkloric dance and an original presentation of Día de los Muertos, the most celebrated holiday in Latin America.
The rich, beautiful culture of Mexican dance is representative of specific states and regions where the costumes and music show both the Indigenous history and the Spanish influence.
Fiesta Colorado’s repertoire includes dances from the most popular regions of Mexico: Jalisco, Veracruz, Colima, Tamaulipas, Chihuahua, Oaxaca, Yucatán, Chiapas, Nayarit, Guerrero and Sinaloa.
The Company has over 200 years of dance training and performing experience that has come from Mexican dances’ most reknowned folklórico maestros.
• Raúl Váldez – Gold Medalist with the world-famous Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández
• Rafael Zamarripa – is one of Mexico’s most honored contemporary artists. A former member of the national Ballet Folklórico, Zamarripa is widely-recognized as a master dancer and choreographer, sculptor, and painter. He is Founder of the Grupo Folklórico at the Universidad de Guadalajara, as well as the Ballet Folklórico de la Universidad de Colima.
• Augustín del Razo – Famous Mexican dancer who trained at the Palacio de Belles Artes in Mexico City. His work represents the traditional old style dances from all regions of Mexico where his photos are the album covers of many Mexican dance album covers, “Bailes Mexicanos.”
